Cobwebs, Costumes, Cameras and Kids
We are looking forward to our first Halloween Party at the studio. The opportunity to raise much needed funds for families in Oregon through the Oregon Food Bank makes it all the more special. We are partnering up with Spielwerk-A Community Toystore to create Sugar Skulls in celebration of the Day of the Dead in addition to photographing kids in their costumes.
Here is a reminder of our schedule of events on Friday the 31st:
Schedule of Events:
2 pm – 3 pm: Baby Boos
Portland’s tiniest ghosts and goblins are invited to strut their Halloween stuff by participating in a special photo session just for costumed babies and toddlers.
3 pm – 5 pm: Sugar Skulls
Friends from SpielWerk Community Toy Store will be on hand to help kids create their own authentic Day of the Dead sugar skulls.
3 pm – 6 pm: Spooky Snapshots
School-aged gremlins and ghouls will get their chance to strike a pose – decked out in their spookiest regalia – and help fight hunger too.
Admission to this fun-filled Halloween-themed event is free, but portraits may be purchased for $10 in digital format, or for $20 as prints, with all proceeds benefiting the Oregon Food Bank. This provides attendees with an opportunity to make a real difference in our community.
In addition, many of our Sellwood business neighbors have stepped up to help the Oregon Food Bank that we’ve created three wonderful gift baskets to raffle off on Halloween to raise additional funds for the Oregon Food Bank, including, Looking Glass Bookstore, Grand Central Bakery, Pizazz Salon, Jules of Morocco, Handmaids, Vino, Haggis McBaggis, Mocha Mama, Spielwerk, Adobe Rose Cafe, Branches, Blue Kangaroo, Staccato Gelato, QFC, GR Scrub, Garden State, By the Bunch, Please be Seated, Tilde and Elexia Wellness.
For those children participating in photos this year we are offering a prize of a a single layer cake from A Piece of Cake for the most creative costume. We can’t wait to see how Portland kids are expressing themselves this year!
