Portraits at Creative Toystore Plue
Saturday, July 24th - 2010

Tucked away in the Woodstock neighborhood is a little treasure of a children’s store called Plue. Owner, Wendy Turner, chose the name from a Shel Silverstein book Runny Babbit and it cleverly describes the cross between purple and blue as plue. We were thrilled when Wendy recently invited us to have some portrait photography on display above the wooden veggies, felted bird banners, beautiful books and creative toys. If you step through the door be sure to enjoy some of our favorite children’s photography on the walls as you search for that perfect birthday present, baby gift or treasure for your child.

Stop by for storytime on Mondays at 10:30 am and you’ll be in for a auditory treat amidst visual wonderment. They can be found next to Collage on Woodstock at 4431 SE Woodstock.

Boutique with Picture Perfect Clothing
Tuesday, June 8th - 2010

One of the first questions we get asked at our portrait planning sessions is “what to wear for a family portrait.” Well, we recently found a store that encompasses so many of the qualities we suggest to families when choosing clothes for the family photo. It’s a brand-new boutique in Lake Oswego called Silkwood. Clothes with elegant textures, colors that blend fluidly together are the norm at Silkwood. Owner Sandy is at ease making suggestions to fit your figure as well as coordinating moms and their babes. I personally loved all the hand-knitted baby clothes and toys. What a treasure. If you’d like to read more about what we recommend for picture taking success check out our FAQ-Clothing Recommendations.
We are thrilled to have the opportunity to have a couple of our portraits hanging in the store. Seems to be a simpatico fit between the two businesses that’s for sure.

Inspiring Laboring Mamas at Providence
Monday, June 7th - 2010

This Spring Francisco and I got involved in a fun project with our local hospital. We photographed babies of the employees at Providence Milwaukie to decorate the labor rooms and hallways in the Family Maternity Center. In this case, we like to consider our art inspirational pushing motivators. There’s nothing like looking at a sweet baby to remind a laboring mama that it will be worth it in the end. Learn more about the Family Maternity Center at Providence Milwaukie Hospital.
We were also excited to add decor to their employee lactation room. Images were hand picked to inspire all kinds of milk production and flow. We hope this collection of baby photography will be enjoyed by patients and employees alike.

Alma Midwifery
Wednesday, March 24th - 2010

Recently, our friend and owner of Alma Midwifery, Laura, called to ask us if we could refresh their space with some new and updated photos. Of course we were happy to oblige, and here are just a few shots of the new look. Don’t you agree that this is such a lovely alternative space to have your baby? We sure do.

New Photos at Sound Roots
Monday, September 28th - 2009

Just stopped by to hang some musically inclined portraiture around Sound Roots School of Modern Music. We love it when folks bring their hobbies into the studio, especially instruments. Over the years we’ve developed a nice collection of these images.
Our son Tamaio can’t say enough great things about his experience at Sound Roots rock-n-roll band camp this summer. He’s already putting his band together for next year. The owners Fara & Chris Heath (Fara’s featured above) are really wonderful and talented people.

Summer Portraits at Spielwerks
Monday, August 17th - 2009

It is such a pleasure to have our portraits hanging the family-friendly cornocopia of fun that is Spielwerk’s Community Toy Store in Sellwood. Kim quickly became friends with owners Stacee and Sonja when they moved into the neighborhood and have been collaborating on events ever since.
This collection of color photographs will be on display through the month of August. So should you have a special celebration in your future be sure to swing by Spielwerk and enjoy their impressive collection of creative toys for little ones. We are particularly fond of their handmade costume pieces for Portland’s bevy of little knights and princesses.
Kickin' It at Clogs-N-More
Thursday, August 13th - 2009

We love partnering with unique boutiques like Clogs-N-More. Pairing black & white children’s portraits with happy and colorful lil’ shoes is too fun. Check out all the pics at the Kid’s store on Hawthorne. We also have images on display in the Sellwood-Moreland, Clogs-N-More store on Milwaukie.
Pssst…we hear they are having a huge ‘back-to-school’ sale this weekend August 15-16. Load up on spiffy kicks and you might walk away with something special from Campbell Salgado Studio too!
