Kids, Costumes and a Cause = A Great Time

The cobwebs have been taken down, the skeletons packed away, and now I have time to reflect on our Halloween Party fundraiser for the Oregon Food Bank. What a whirlwind day it was!

Mamas and papas started arriving at 2 pm with their precious ladybugs, lions and fairies, and by the end of the day, we’d had the pleasure of capturing over 80 children in their creative get-ups. Leah and Kelly took over the studio upstairs to create many of the wonderful images families received to remember Halloween ‘08. To see some of these oh-so-cute images check out this gallery I set up. You can read more about the party and see what crazy idea our staff dreamed up for a group costume by visiting our blog.

Associate Sessions

In consideration of the times, we are on the lookout for ways we can make portraiture more tangible for our clients. As an affordable alternative to being photographed by studio principals, Kim and Francisco, we are introducing “Associate Sessions” from budding photographers within our team.

With degrees in photography, both Leah and Kelly are apt apprentices, and deserving of an opportunity to exercise their talents within the profession. They will be available only on a limited basis each month, but we are excited to translate Kelly and Leah’s involvement into discounted pricing to families on a budget. With associate sessions, you can expect discounts on certain products and services of up to 25%.

For more details contact everyone’s favorite office gal, Allie at the studio.

It’s time to put on your thinking caps again; we know it isn’t always easy to find the perfect gift for friends or family. But thankfully, we’ll do the thinking for you. Here are some ideas for you to consider, each of which includes a limited-time offer from us (see the Gift Idea blog post on our website for more details):

New Mom’s Tea at the studio

As a member of MotherSource.org, Kim is always excited to get involved in new projects that support families in our community. Her friend and fellow MotherSource.org member, Wendy Foster of Mamalates hatched a plan to provide a juicy little nest for new Mamas to meet at and the New Mom’s Tea was born.

Kim offered up Campbell Salgado Studio as the locale, Kimberly Bepler from ABC Doula Service sponsored the refreshments and Savannah Mayfield from Nurture Life Coaching developed some great ways for new mom’s to connect with one another. Then all of us at MotherSource.org let as many mamas as we could know about the concept. Visit our blog to read more about this tasty event.
